Aamir Khan On Cloud 9 As Dangal Becomes Highest Grosser Ever

Aamir Khan"s latest release "Dangal" has emerged as the biggest box office grosser of Indian cinema beating superstar"s own film "PK".

"Dangal," based on the life of Haryanvi wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters Geeta and Babita, also surpassed the lifetime collection of Salman Khan"s "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and "Sultan."

"I am absolutely overwhelmed with all the love that "Dangal" has got. It is one of the most passionate responses I have ever received. I want to thank everyone for owning the film as their own.

"It"s the biggest compliment a creative person can receive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. And thank you Nitesh sir," Aamir said in a statement.

The movie, also starring Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra, has collected Rs 345.3 crore till Sunday (net India box office).

“Dangal is an extremely special film for us at Disney, Aamir Khan and the entire cast and crew of the film. This is our ninth film with Aamir and with Dangal we"ve broke our own record of "PK". The film collected Rs 14.33 cr on Sunday which is also the biggest 17th Day collection for any film.

Director Anil Sharma says Baahubali 2 has not broken any box office record that Gadar had.

On being asked the same question again and again, the director said: ?Please don?t frame me in all these things. If some good film comes, records would be broken. And as far as Bahubali 2 is concerned, it has not yet set any record. As mentioned, Gadar had done a business of Rs 265 crore in 2001 when the ticket rates were Rs 25 only. As per valuation, it is Rs 5,000 crore today

Sangamithra first look revealed

Actors Jayam Ravi, Arya and Shruti Haasan have been roped in to play the titular characters Sangamithra, which is being produced by Sri Thenandal Films. The makers of the film have launched the first look posters of Sangamithra featuring Shruti Haasan and Arya.

Baahubali 2 becomes first Indian film to gross Rs 1000 crore at the box office

Baahubali: The Conclusion released in five languages - Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi, across 8,000 screens in India. The film has made over Rs. 800 crore in India and more than 200 crore in the international markets, tweeted Mr Bala. Baahubali: The Conclusion not only received a bumper opening of over Rs. 100 crore (all versions put together), the film also made over Rs. 300 crore in its first weekend.

Baahubali 2 - Highest Grossing Indian Cinema

Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty, Baahubali the Conclusion is a sequel to the 2015 blockbuster Baahubali: The Beginning. That film made on a budget of Rs 180 crore went on to earn Rs 650 crore worldwide. Originally made in Telugu, the film was released in other languages such as Hindi and Tamil and this way, Baahubali became a pan-Indian, national phenomenon.
